DEPLETION TO RENEWAL: SELF-CARE TOOLS FOR COMPASSIONATE CAREGIVERS
September 22, 2019 @ 8:00 am - 4:00 pm UTC+0
TBAA caregiver is a professional or family member who provides for the care and well-being of others. For most care-givers, being there when needed is a rewarding core value.
Over time, however, the on-going responsibility of care-giving can deplete and overwhelm even the most resilient among us, manifesting in emotional, mental and spiritual exhaustion and physical stress, as well as a sense of disconnection form those in our care – and our best selves.
Learning resilience-building skills that can take you from depletion to renewal is an important new approach to self-regulation stress for both personal and professional care-givers. In this workshop, we will explore the causes, and symptoms of secondary traumatic stress, compassion fatigue and care-giver depletion, how to develop a self-care action plan and strategies and tools for renewal.
This workshop is recommended for family and professional care-givers alike. Professional caregivers include: teachers, chaplains, therapist, social workers, nurse, doctors, spiritual directors and more.
