Stress Management & Resilience-Building

Enhancing your ability to prepare for, recover from and adapt in the face of stress, challenge and adversity

Stress is…

The wear and tear the body experiences in reaction to everyday challenges, tensions and pressures. Stress can also be thought of as the emotional and physiological reaction to a threat, whether that threat is real or imagine, resulting in a series of adaptations by the body and mind to cope with that stress.

90% if all health problems…

Are stress-related, according to the American Institute of Stress.

Leading stress researchers agree that stress boils down to problems in:

  • Perception
  • Self-communication

And is driven by the focus and significance you place on these two things.

Resilience can be defined as…

The capacity to prepare for, recover from and adapt in the face of stress, challenge and adversity. Learning resilience-building techniques and practices allows you to physiologically, emotional, mentally and spiritually renew when you are depleted by stress.

Stress Resilience & Life Coaching

Resilience-building is an important new approach to understanding and learning to regulate and self-regulate stress.

Resilience can be defined as the capacity to prepare for, recover from and adapt in the face of stress, challenge or adversity. There are four main domains of resilience: emotional, mental, physical and spiritual.  You can increase your resilience capacity in any and all areas and store resilience by learning techniques and engaging in practices that allow you to perceive things more clearly, stay in charge of your reactions, and maintain your composure in stress-triggering situations.

We often think “this one thing happened, and now I’m stressed!” but in reality stress is something you’ve been accumulating in response to your life experiences. “This one thing” has simply and suddenly made you aware that you need to add some new coping tools to your resilience tool bag.

That’s where I  can help…

First we will identify your level of stress and sense of well-being in life areas such as work, health, finances, relationships, social support, time management, feelings and emotions, spirituality, and more.

Next we will work together to help you increase your awareness of the signs and symptoms of stress depletion. And you will learn “good fit” tools and resilience-building practices aimed at teaching you how to prepare ahead of time for stressful situations, quickly shift and reset to a more balanced state after a stressful event or in the moment stress is occurring, and build a new baseline – a new normal – of resilience.

De-cluttering emotional and mental stress can be a first and necessary step in  determining what you truly want and what is getting in the way. It can be the first step in creating the life you love – and are meant to live.
