Caregiver burnout is often referred to as “the cost of care-giving” for both family and professional caregivers. Over time, that cost can lead to physiological, emotional, mental and spiritual depletion expressed as an erosion in empathy, compassion and connection for and to others – and to one’s best self. This hands-on workshop will focus on tools for sustainable renewal and the development of a personalized self-care action plan aimed at helping you prepare for, recover from and adapt in the face of the challenges of care-giving. The signs and symptoms of compassion fatigue and caregiver burnout will also be explored.
