From Depletion to Renewal: A Resilience-Building Workshop for Caregivers
October 25 @ 8:00 am - 4:00 pm UTC+0$55
A caregiver is defined as a professional or family member who provides for the care and well-being of others. Most caregivers find that being there when needed is a rewarding core value.
Over time, however, the ongoing responsibility of care-giving can deplete and overwhelm even the most resilient among us, manifesting in emotional, mental, and spiritual exhaustion, as well as physical illness. Moreover, an overwhelmed and depleted caregiver often experiences a sense of disconnect not only from those in his or her care but also from his or her own best self.
In this workshop we will: learn about secondary traumatic stress; identify the cause, signs and symptoms of secondary traumatic stress; recognize the symptoms of compassion fatigue and caregiver depletion; learn tools for coping; develop a self-care action plan; and implement strategies and tools for renewal.
