If you believe in accidents, then you might say that my public speaking career began by accident in 2002 when I was asked to fill-in for the keynote speaker at an exhibit opening at the Blanden Memorial Art Museum in Iowa. I spoke for 20 minutes on the healing power of art to a packed exhibit hall; when the house lights came up, I was stunned to see that most of the men and women in the audience were crying - moved to tears by my speech and story re: how art had helped me find wholeness and healing after a severe traumatic brain injury. Saying, "You're a natural!", the museum's director urged me to pursue a career in motivational speaking.
Since 2002, I've spoken at hundreds of venues on a wide variety of subjects. In addition to healing art, I now presents motivational and inspirational talks and lectures on healing writing/healing power of words, HeartMath, stress resilience, finding life purpose, body-mind-spirit topics, soulful aging, dignity, forgiveness and more. If you're looking for a dynamic, often humorous, always interesting speaker, I can tailor a talk to suit the needs and interests of your business, social or religious organization, school, artist's guild or health care facility.
